An exhibition identity for the Textile Museum in Borås, Sweden. The central curatorial theme for this group show was dealing with the deep historical and contemporary entanglements between the production of textiles and global Capital, from the industrial revolution to fast fashion.

With this in mind, I developed a modular and easily-adaptable visual concept based on textile methods for pattern-making using the instantly recognizable form of the barcode.

The arrangement of pattern and blocks of color also build up a composition that can be seen as an abstract root system engulfed in flames. (The title, in Swedish, translates to "when roots burn", referring both to the chains of production and consumption and waste, as well as the urgency of the issue within the textile industry to face their complicated historical and contemporary relation with capitalism and environmental collapse).
